"Don't respond to a ghost's call". Our elders often warn us not to engage with invisible, intangible forces, or else the spirit will haunt and lead us astray. Ghosts have long dwelled in Thai folklore, myths, and legends, as menacing entities.
What if... We're actually the ghosts? Our voices silenced, our presences ignored and treated as threatening entities that must be exterminated? But what if we also have desires, a heart, and a voice that cries out to be heard? What can we do to make our presence known and our voices heard?
*A Ghost Story* as told by Arty Nicharee's semi-abstract comic in 2023, invites readers to drift and merge with the bodies of nameless voices; to listen to the voices of those who are incarcerated, silenced, or killed repeatedly, and to embody those of people who have historically fought and are fighting today.
